In 10.19.06’s episode of NBC’s “The Office”, a rather funny LOST reference was made. Dwight, the office weirdo, and also the top salesman and Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company, is training a new salesman, Ryan, in his own weird way. Part of his training includes sitting on a chair in an old barn while Dwight asks him questions about his job.
Dwight: What is Michael’s worst fear?
Ryan: Loneliness. Or women.
Dwight: Wrong. Michael has no fear. But I would have also accepted “snakes”.
Ryan: Oh.
Dwight: What is the DHARMA Initiative?
After this it cuts to commercial. I know that reading it on a blog post isn’t very funny, but when you see it in sequence, it is hilarious, especially if you know what the DHARMA Initiative is.

In Season 1 of The Office in an episode called “Diversity Day”, Michael Takes the office group down to the warehouse to meet the other Dunder Mifflin workers. On their way down the stairs, Dwight turns around and whispers into the camera: “Remember in LOST, when they met The Others?” This and the one above are the only two LOST references in The Office that I know of. From this, we can conclude that Dwight watches ABC.

Congratulations, you’ve left the first reply on this site.
Ya, I think I remember that. I liked that episode. And ya, it looks like Dwight does like LOST.

Apperently there was a reference to The Office in an episode of Lost. Does anyone have any more information on this?

Yes Garry.
It is in the episode were the English guy robs the girls he has been dating just to get her money. He asks where her dad is and she says he is travelling doing business, and has just bought a paper company in Scranton.
Let me know if any one else noticed this?
Also something else I noticed… in the episode were the Korean guy goes to the house of the environment guy to deliver the message from his wife’s father. The environmental guys daughter is watching TV, on the TV is the fat guy (the one that won the lottery) looks like it is footage of him being arrested.
Any one else see that one?
Thanks

Scott: Yes, in Jin’s flashback, the little is watching Hurley on the TV. And I didn’t notice the one about buying the paper company in Scranton… I’ll have to watch it again.

Actually, this is a bit late on the response but I googled “Lost The Office reference” and came to this blog. I just saw the episode where Charlie’s story is introduced (episode 15 or 16) I think and the woman says that her father is visiting some paper merchant in Slough. Slough is where the original “The Office” (from UK and with Ricky Gervais) took place. I’m really posting this here because this is the first search result and someone else with most likely have the same question as I did.

Yeah I just noticed it in the episode on Lost when Charlie goes back to the girls house and he asks “so where is the old man?” to which the girl replies “I think he’s buying some paper company in Slough”. Being a big fan of both of these shows I noticed immediately and thought it was quite funny after hearing various references to Lost from Dwight Schrute in the US version of The Office

There is a deleted scene when Dwight is interviewing Andy for the position of assistant to the regional manager.
Dwight: What is the DHARMA inititave?
Andy: The place on earth where all energy comes from.
Dwight: False. A cooperation formed by aliens.
